Feeling Scattered? How to Organize Your Brain and Find Your Focus

Written by Juli Shulem, M.S., PCC, CPC
Ever feel like your brain is a cluttered desk, with tasks and thoughts scattered everywhere? đ§ ⨠Youâre not alone. As a Productivity Coach, Iâve seen firsthand how overwhelming it can be to juggle everything life throws at us. But hereâs the good news: you donât have to do it alone, and it doesnât have to be perfect.
(My feeling on âPerfectâ is: âItâs better to finish at a âBâ level than never be done at an âAâ level.â This mantra I coined decades ago dealing with my own perfectionism has helped countless individuals, especially those with non-neurotypical brains like ADHD, find balance and reduce stress. Itâs about progress, not perfection).
GAIN CLARITY â ORGANIZE YOUR BRAIN!
Imagine having a clear path, where each step logically builds on the last, allowing you to see the big picture while mastering each task. Thatâs the power of effective task management and calendaring. Itâs not just about getting better at what you do; itâs about becoming better at who you are.
These are skills I teach and skills YOU can learnâŚ
When I was a Professional Organizer and clients came to me with completely disorganized environments â clearing it, minimizing, tidying, etc. â that was a walk in the park. Organizing their mindset was where the real work needed to happen. My protocol: Organize the environment AND Organize the person within itâŚit has to be a two-pronged approach for it to work and stick.
So, how do you organize your brain? Whatâs one small change you can make today to reduce overwhelm? Share your thoughts in the comments!
If you found this helpful, share it with someone who might benefit. Together, we can make life more productiveâŚfinally!
